Panorama China’s Economy

The development history of Chinese economic thought can be generally divided into two stages: ancient (before the founding of New China) economic thought and modern (after the founding of New China) economic thought. Ancient Chinese economic thought was mainly based on Confucian culture, which was continuously evolved and enhanced during the economic development of successive dynasties of Chinese feudal society. The economic thought after the founding of New China can be broadly divided into three stages: the inward-looking economic development stage after the founding of the country until the reform and opening-up, the limited opening-up stage after the reform and opening-up until the end of the 20th century, and the deepening stage of political reform and opening-up in the new century, especially after the accession to the WTO.
